My time at Wellspring last week!

I'm delayed in updating.  Besides taking my girls to several doctor appointments, filling in during staff meeting on Wednesday, John and I hosted a Christmas party for the girls and two coaches on Saturday.  We had a wonderful time and gave each girl a gift card to Starbucks...their favorite place to visit!  Many Sunday's they attend services at Cross Pointe Church and we all sit together. My love continues to grow for each girls.  Since they all either knit are crochet, I guess this will be my new hobby!

Time with my "girls" at Wellspring Living

Today and tomorrow I have the privilege of taking two girls to the doctor.  This time means so much to me as it deepens our friendships.  God has put me exactly where I need to be.  He is using my past to give hope to these girls who are walking with tremendous faith as they trust HIM for a second chance in life. I am truly blessed!

Staff meeting at Wellspring Living

Today was my day at Wellspring Living to be with "my girls".  It's always so much fun to fill in during staff meetings.  What a blessing to form friendships with these amazing girls.

Mt Paran Church - Senior luncheon

The event yesterday at Mt. Paran Central was truly a blessing.  The food was delicious and approximately 80 people came.  As always, my sweet husband was there to support me and Debbie Kirtland and her daughter Landis helped with book sales. My dear friend Karen Finley introduced me and told the story of how God brought us together as a family. The pictures aren't that good but will add them anyway.

Where have I been??

I was admitted to the hospital in Sept 2nd and stayed 17 days after having surgery and getting pneumonia. I realized how long it has been since I posted anything about what I have been doing.

After getting involved with Wellspring Living last year, I am filling much of my time with "my girls".  Several Wed a month I am at the house during staff meetings and other days when needed I make myself available for doctor appointments, etc.  Being on several girls 'safe list' enables me to have 1-1 time with them away from the house.

On Oct 19th John & I hosted a cookout for the women and a couple of coaches. It was a wonderful time and our next time to have them over is December 4th.  God has more than blessed me as I open my heart to these amazing women!  Visit the website and get involved! Wellspring Living

Girls being baptized at Wellspring Living!

Several weeks ago I visited Cross Point church and was blessed when two girls from Wellspring Living got baptized that I've gotten to know. This morning I visited Influeners Church after one of the Wellspring girls invited me to her baptism. There were over 10 girls from WS there to support her. Many tears were shed as we heard her brief testimony. Amazing things are happening to these precious girls who have lived such difficult lives and are giving there lives to Jesus. God is a God who forgives, restores, and gives second chances!

Book club at Rock Springs United Methodist Church

Last night I had the privilege of speaking at a book club hosted by Shari Rates who is the pastor at Rock Springs UMC. Michelle Larson suggested "Our Southern Breeze" for the group to read and invited me to meet those who read my book . Dinner was served and Shari gave beautiful bracelets to all of us. The group made me feel so welcomed as I shared my story of forgiveness, restoration, and second chances. My thanks to all of you for a special evening!

All Things Made New

What a blessing to have been chosen to be the speaker at the event on the 26th hosted by United Methodist Women at Duluth UMC. All funds and a % of book sales went to Wellspring Living.  It was the sweetest day and I was truly blessed.  Thank you to Debbie & Landis for giving up a day to help with the book sales.  I look forward to volunteering with such an amazing ministry. Soon I will be posting pictures on my website.  God is good!

Babbie's House taping

Yesterday I had the honor of being taped for a future show on Babbie's House/WATC that will be aired February 11th at 4:00pm. She is a charming hostess and made me feel at ease. Unfortunately she referred to Deborah as Deborah Jones but other than that, I think the interview went fine.

Christian Communicators "LIVE!"

Since May of last year I have been attending a group called "Christian Communicators". Stacy Robinson, who owns The Robinson Agency, a resource to event planners seeking excellent speakers and artists for corporate, church, and community events, started the group along with several others to encourage women who are connected with communication in various ways.

After each meeting, I leave truly blessed. Last evening Beth Bacall from 104.7 The Fish was our speaker. She is an amazing woman who was not only entertaining, but also has a deep love for her work, family, and most of all God. I left feeling honored to be with such a great group of Godly women.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!  It was a year ago on January 15th that we launched Our Southern Breeze in Dallas, TX at my brother-in-law, Ron Hall and his wife Beth’s home.  It was an event that I missed due to emergency surgery on my tummy!  That event began an exciting journey for me.

I wanted to thank so many people who not only read my book but told others about it.  There have been opportunities for me to speak at churches, book clubs, and other events.  I was honored to speak in San Antonio at an event hosted by South Texas Money Management called ‘Second Chances’.

As I focus more on the book, Debbie Kirtland, who has been running DJ Consultants since I started writing Our Southern Breeze, is gradually taking over most of the responsibilities of the company.  What a blessing to know that she has the passion and love that I’ve had for so many years.

Thank you again and may God bless you in 2013!
